Trusted-Trader Programs & Customs Systems

WCO SAFE Framework

Also known as: SAFE Framework

The SAFE Framework is a set of international standards developed by the World Customs Organization to secure and facilitate global trade, built on close cooperation between customs administrations, partnerships with business, and the use of advance electronic information to manage risk. It underpins national trusted-trader programs and the mutual recognition arrangements that let a company's security certification be honored across borders. By promoting common approaches to supply-chain security and modern risk management, the framework aims to protect trade against disruption while keeping legitimate goods moving efficiently.
