Manufacturer / Producer

The manufacturer or producer is the party that actually makes, grows, or produces the goods, and its identity carries significant weight in customs and trade-remedy contexts. The producer's location and processing operations determine country of origin and eligibility for preferential treatment, its identity fixes company-specific antidumping and countervailing duty rates, and its practices are the focus of forced-labor and product-safety scrutiny. Because so many compliance determinations trace back to who made the goods and where, importers must know and document their true manufacturers rather than relying solely on the name of an intermediary or trading company.
