DPU

Also known as: Delivered at Place Unloaded

Delivered at Place Unloaded is the only Incoterm that requires the seller to unload the goods at the named destination: the seller bears all costs and risks of bringing the goods to the place and unloading them there, after which responsibility passes to the buyer, who handles import clearance and duties. DPU replaced an earlier terminal-delivery term and broadened it to any agreed place, not just a terminal. It suits situations where the seller is best positioned to manage the arrival and unloading, but sellers should ensure they can actually accomplish unloading at the chosen point before agreeing to it.

The only Incoterm requiring the seller to unload at destination. Useful where the seller controls the equipment and you do not — and worth confirming that the named place can actually receive the goods before you agree to it.
